Apida Kenya

Kenya

Apida Medical Center, located in Homa-Bay County, focuses on providing affordable and sustainable healthcare services primarily to women and children from low-income backgrounds. The hospital currently experiences frequent power outages that disrupt operations, relying on costly diesel generators as a backup. The project aims to implement a sustainable energy solution, specifically solar energy, to address these power challenges and ensure continuous operation as the hospital expands to 100 beds. Although the partner expects to run solely on solar energy during outages, they do not anticipate it becoming their only energy source. Tom and Bernard are the primary contacts for the project and will be present on-site in July and August, along with technicians who will assist with the installation and learn how to repair it in case of malfunctions.
